Firework season is well and truly upon us where th

Firework season is well and truly upon us where those with little regard for others like to create absolute distress for our family members.
There are many ways to help your pets through this season and resources are available from better sources than us but I wanted to give my personal take on Sileo.
Negrita is extremely anxious and firework season was just horrid for her and me. Two years ago both Negrita and I were exhausted with her continuous 48 hrs of pacing, barking and wining. Her vet and I decided to sedate her after exhausting every other avenue and they prescribed diazepam. It didn't work. Another 24hrs passed and I begged for something else. I was given an untested drug, for this clinic, named Sileo.
It's a gel that I had to put in her gums.....which wasn't fun.
However, 20 minutes later and Negrita was lying beside me calm, no longer anxious and dare I say normal again. She wasn't stoned, or dopey.....just calm.
I am not advocating drugs as the first line of defence necessarily, but this is our story and it has worked it's miracles twice more since then.
Moving to the countryside has helped immensely for Negrita but that's not an option for everyone.
Speak to your vet about Sileo if you are at that point, it's good to have options and this option has been a lifesaver for us. I am unsure if there are versions for other species such as cats or horses, so please ask your vet 💜🐾

It shames us greatly this is happening in our own back yard. Rescues are on their knees and we struggle keeping up with food requests. Yet these puppy farmers are swimming in cash and being enabled by our own local governments! 100s of breeding bitches in one place is vile.
Shame, shame, shame!

Last night we fed 5 stunning pups including the most gorgeous bully dog I know. Calm, steady, sweet and almost dognapped by me 😂. I am protecting 'it's' identity from box ticking assholes that would gladly try to have it killed, including the council. For their information it is excempt and fully registered. Just because someone is 'homeless' it doesn't mean their child is 💜🐾

German Shepherd RRR received a pallet of food and a bag of toys for their residents. Based in Craigantlet they are a wonderful place of tranquility for both humans and dogs alike, and it's very hard work to make a place feel like that. 💜🐾

A HUGE thank you to Sainsbury's, Holywood Exchange, for inviting us in-store and huge thanks to your exceptionally generous customers. Unfortunately no volunteers showed for the bag packing but Maureen with Poppy and Jess did a sterling job at front of store and raised a fantastic £310!
This will help pay some of our current vets bills for sure.
PS, the little kiddies were so taken with Poppy they came back for more scritches after their shopping 🥰
